Cotswold Outdoor

All of our staff undergo a comprehensive programme of product training and skills development. With the help of our suppliers and our own qualified instructors, our staff are able to test the latest products out in the environment they were designed for to ensure they stay up to date with the latest product developments and that our customers get the best possible advice during their visits to our stores or when reading our guides online.

We run in depth training courses such as Winter Skills, Mountain, Hill and Climbing academies as well as GPS, Footwear and Camping academies. These courses cater for all, whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced outdoor enthusiast, you can add another string to your bow and share your new skills with your team.

The people who work for us are always planning their next adventure. Their spare time is filled with footpaths, trails and climbing routes. It’s these experiences and this first-hand knowledge that our staff pass on to you.

  • Amazing volunteering opportunities

Exploration was very different in 1974.  Outdoor kit was heavier, less adaptable, and less effective.  Only a lucky few could call themselves “adventurers”.  Since then we’ve walked into a world straight out of science-fiction.

We have tents that weigh less than 1 kilogram, watches that can navigate and ultra-warm jackets that fold into their own pockets.  But there are a few things that haven’t changed.  Our commitment to expert service, cutting-edge technology and having the widest choice of kit are the same as ever.  Where you go with it – what adventures you have – is up to you.
